Rice may have found its quarterback of the future as Coppell gunslinger Brady McBride announced his commitment to the Owls on Friday morning.

The Dallas-area prospect committed to Rice in favor of offers from Bowling Green, Columbia, Illinois State, Montana State, Navy and Texas State. While the Owls still have a long way to go towards constricting a quality 2018 class, McBride’s pledge marked Rice’s fourth in five days, providing David Bailiff and his staff with some much-needed momentum on the recruiting front.

In McBride, Rice is gaining 2016’s District 9-6A MVP after the Coppell product completed 200-of-328 passes for 2,616 yards and 33 touchdowns, along with another 480 yards and seven scores with his legs.

Rice’s 2018 class now rank’s No. 89 nationally and No. 4 in C-USA.
