IRVING — The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners now know where they’ll be for every week of the schedule — including during conference play — in 2018.
Conference USA released the schedule in a Tuesday press release and the Roadrunners will begin their conference schedule against UTEP.
UTSA starts with a tough non-conference schedule. It’s first game will be against the Herm Edwards-led Arizona State Sun Devils. Following that, it’ll have games against Kansas State, Baylor and Texas State.
In conference, the Roadrunners travel to Rice, Southern Mississippi and UAB. Four of the Roadrunners last five games will pit them against teams who finished with eight or more wins. It’s last game of the season, against UNT, could provide pivotal should the Roadrunners survive the six weeks before.

Non-conference
The non-conference is certainly tough at first glance. Traveling to both Arizona State and Kansas State would prove tough for many Division I programs. The Sun Devils finished with seven wins in 2017 and replaced coach Todd Graham with Herm Edwards. It’s yet to be seen how the Edwards hire will go, but it’s certain he’ll look to make a statement in his first game.
UTSA hosting Baylor should prove for a rowdy environment, as the Roadrunners stole a game from the Bears last season. Granted, the Bears ended the season with one win, but there should be improvements on all fronts for the team from Waco.
Texas State will come to San Antonio to end the non-conference schedule as it looks to get past the two-win mark on the season for the first time since 2015.
