McCormick has another record-breaking day
UT-San Antonio running back Sincere McCormick broke his own school record as the Roadrunners closed the regular season by cruising past the North Texas Mean Green 49-17 on Saturday.
McCormick had 251 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries to help UTSA (7-4, 5-2 Conference USA) down UNT (4-3, 2-1). He previously set the school record of 197 yards in one game during the season opener against Texas State.
The former Converse Judson star had a 65-yard touchdown run that extended UTSA’s lead to 21-7 early in the second quarter. He added an 18-yard scoring run that made it 42-10 Roadrunners early in the fourth quarter.
McCormick was a star at nearby Judson where he had more than 3,400 yards and 43 touchdowns and was an all-state first-team selection as a junior.
UTSA is 2.5 games ahead of Alabama-Birmingham for the CUSA lead, but the Trailblazers have yet to complete conference play. UAB has the head-to-head tiebreaker over UTSA and the CUSA Conference Championship Game is currently scheduled to be played on Dec. 18.
