Duncanville continued their climb up the national high school best teams list.
It was arguably their biggest win of the season.
The Panthers dealt Waxahachie their biggest loss since October 6th of last year, triumphing 41-17. It was the Indians first loss after six straight away victories dating back to last season.
The Panthers have now won a dozen straight since last year.
Overall, the offense was the deciding factor, with Duncanville (496 total yards) nearly doubling the output of Waxahachie (292 total yards).
Duncanville quarterback Keelon Russell was incredible, tossing for 351 yards and six touchdowns, completing 78.3% of his passes. The quarterback has now passed for three or more in his last four games, dating back to last season. He was also the second leading rusher on the team (38 yards), trailing only JaQualon Armstrong (67 yards).
Armstrong aired the ball out, early and often, giving three receivers chances to score. Dakorien Moore (147 yards and 3 TDs) led the receiving unit; Zach Turner (93 yards and 2 TDs) and Trenton Yancey (76 yards and a score) also saw the end zone.
The only gripe on the Panthers performance was their penchant for attracting penalties. Through the course of the game, the team was flagged 13 times for 125 yards.
It’s the kind of gaffes Duncanville will have to address as they put their unbeaten streak on the line against Skyline on Friday, a team that has only allowed 17.2 points per game this season. Additionally, Waxahacie will host DeSoto, a tough outing following their beatdown at the hands of the Panthers.
