Trask matches SEC record in win over Ole Miss
Former Manvel star Kyle Trask threw for 416 yards and six passing touchdowns to help No. 3 Florida open the season with a 51-35 shootout win at Mississippi on Saturday.
Trask joins current Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow as the only quarterback to throw for six scores in a Southeastern Conference opener. He completed 30 of 42 passes for Florida (1-0, 1-0) against the Ole Miss (0-1, 0-1) defense. Trask helped Manvel to an 11-3 record as a senior and a berth in the Class 6A, Division II Area Quarterfinals.
The Gator host South Carolina (0-1, 0-1) on Saturday at 11 a.m. on ESPN.
