No one is sure how good Kenny Hill actually is
At times Hill can be dominant, his legs opening up lanes for passes. He can hit great play actions, his fakes leaving wide receivers completely open down the field. He’s been excellent at points this year, and he’s been the reason why TCU has won a couple of the six games they won.
Unfortunately, the opposite of that is true, and Kenny Hill has been the reason that TCU has lost a couple of the now-seven games that they won. He’s mercurial, no one knows what they’re going to get when he plays. He could throw for a zillion yards and a hundred touchdowns, or throw three picks with three questionable decisions.
The second half was not kind to the Frogs
A huge part of TCU’s success in the first half was completely due to the fact that they got great pressure on Eason. TCU just either got wore down in the second half or Georgia’s offensive line started clicking.
The bigger changes were on the offensive side of the ball. Kyle Hicks fumbled. Kenny Hill went nearly full bad Kenny. The playcalls in the fourth quarter were questionable at best and downright bad at worst. It wasn’t a complete collapse, but it sure felt like it.
Please TCU, kick better.
It likely wouldn’t have outright won this game for the Frogs, but it would’ve helped. There’s no doubt in my mind that scenarios change when different point totals are on the board, and TCU might have been able to force Georgia into worse situations.
The kicking was abysmal, but it only served to highlight a frustrating season for TCU. They were so close in nearly every area, but a vulnerable defense and an inconsistent signal caller doomed them slightly.
