Jerod Evans, formerly of Mansfield, will leave Virginia Tech after just one year to go to the NFL Draft. He spent the past two years at Trinity Valley Community College.

Virginia Tech had a lot of senior talent on the field this year, so losing some offensive players was expected…just not Evans. It might have been wiser for the quarterback to stay in school for another year to hone his skills before going to the draft.
Regardless, here we are with Evans, who will need an excellent performance in the Combine and at his Pro Day to reach the higher rounds.
