If you thought J.K. Dobbins was going to be off the field for long, think again. Urban Meyer has vocalized that the true freshman from La Grange, Texas will definitely get some playing time, and today, he became the first freshman on the roster to lose his black stripe.

Losing the black stripe is a ceremony at Ohio State. It signifies that you’ve finally done enough to be considered a full fledged Buckeye. It also reiterates Meyer’s comments on his playing time, Dobbins will more than likely get a lot of snaps in the fall.

The true freshman had his senior season cut short on the first play of the season. Shortly after, lightning cancelled the rest of the game, which ended in the first quarter as a no contest. La Grange went 4-6 on the year and lost in the first round of the playoffs to Salado, 35-34.
