Myles Garrett has been taken with the first overall pick by the Cleveland Browns.
Garrett was the consensus best overall prospect in the draft. He’s a can’t miss prospect out of Texas A&M who terrorized the SEC for three years before declaring for the NFL Draft. Garrett was routinely a playmaker, notching 47 tackles for a loss and 31 sacks, according to sports-reference.com.
Garrett was a star out of Arlington Martin, where he played with fellow potential draftee Devonte Fields. He was a consensus 5 star recruit out of high school, and was ranked as high as #1 in the nation and #2 in the state.
He’s going to have an impact almost immediately, because that’s just what he does. He’s top 10 in the SEC all-time sacks rankings, and he simply gets to the backfield no matter who he plays. I’d look for Garrett to start playing on third downs almost immediately, if not start outright.
