College football seasons are divided into thirds — the start, the middle and the finish. The first four games set up a season, the middle four are to be survived and the last four determine a team’s postseason worth.
So here’s a look at the SEC teams’ schedules with a ranking based in the toughest September schedules:
1. Auburn — Clemson, Arkansas State, Texas A&M, LSU.
The good news is they are all at home. Gus Malzahn could use a good September.
2. Ole Miss — FSU (Orlando), Wofford, Alabama, Georgia.
We’re going to know a lot about this Rebels season by Oct. 1.
