4A Team of the Week: Anna Coyotes
Anna left it late, but it found a dramatic way to knock off Panther Creek in the regional semifinals.
Trailing by three with the ball at the Panther Creek 35 yard line with just 10 seconds left, Coyote quarterback Ziaodre Williams connected with Jacob Emmers for the go-ahead touchdown. That score ended up being the difference as Anna secured a memorable 42-38 victory.
Williams and Emmers were a thorn in Panther Creek’s side all night. Williams threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns, while Emmers had six catches for 169 yards and all three of those touchdown passes from Williams.

And when it wasn’t Williams finding Emmers through the air, Edward Chumley was churning out yardage for the Coyotes on the ground. He rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.
After last Friday’s heroics, Anna will now get a chance at school history this upcoming Friday. If the Coyotes can defeat Stephenville in the regional final, they will advance to the state semifinals for the first time in school history.
