Second Longest Win Streak In State Continues
Franklin tallied their 28th straight victory, triumphing over Anahuac in the 3A DI Texas football playoffs.
After trailing 7-6 in the first half, the Lions rallied to score 26 unanswered points, earning the 32-7 dub in their area round matchup at Waller ISD Stadium.
Franklin hopes to repeat last year’s UIL 3A DII state championship effort. Their winning streak is second most in the state, behind only Westlake (51 games).
The loss ends a five-game winning streak for Anahuac, dropping the Panthers to 9-3 overall. Their season ends in the area round of the playoffs for the second year in a row.
The Lions will head to Round 3 of the Texas high school football playoffs for the third consecutive season. In the regional semifinals, Franklin will draw either the Hitchcock Bulldogs (10-1) or Woodville Eagles (9-2).
