After a lengthy offseason following coach Steve Sarkisian’s 5-7 first-year campaign, the Burnt Orange have made a decision on their starting quarterback. Incoming transfer and Southlake Carroll 5-star recruit Quinn Ewers will be calling the snaps this fall. Ewers is the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2021 class. After forgoing his senior season in high school for early enrollment, he committed to Ohio State. Transfer protocol landed him in the Lone Star State’s capital.
In getting the starting nod, the Southlake standout will face Louisiana-Monroe, Alabama, and UTSA in his first three weeks running the offense. In just eight games as a junior, Ewers threw for 2,442 yards and 28 touchdowns, leading Southlake Carroll to the 6A state championship game.
