At the University of Texas, you can’t get shut out by Iowa State and lose to Kansas. Or, at least, if you’re Charlie Strong you can’t.
It's official. Texas has fired Charlie Strong. Here's AD Mike Perrin on the news. pic.twitter.com/nGOgSMqdbs

It’s reasonable to assume that this decision came after LSU decided to go with Ed Orgeron and Tom Herman became the target of Texas only.
Charlie Strong wasn’t awful in Austin, he just wasn’t necessarily good. Football is about far more than wins and losses, but in the end, you need a winner if you’re going to make money, and the current landscape of college football is all about the money.
Charlie Strong will land on his feet. Now, we wait and see if Texas can lock in Tom Herman, or to see if they’ve made a terrible, horrible mistake.
