Longhorn offensive lineman Brandon Hodges announced that he will take his 5th year option and graduate transfer today.

Hodges was deep in the competition to start at right tackle, but missed parts of spring practice due to academic issues. Texas has been hit hard across the lines by transfers, including defensive lineman Jordan Elliott.

Tom Herman will have a grace period at Texas while he continues to recruit and build his team, but it’s unsure how long that grace period will be. He can definitely buy a lot more time than anyone thinks with a good showing in non-conference play, which will feature a trip to California to play USC.
