Texas Tech needs defenders, badly. They might have a pretty solid one in JUCO transfer Thomas Leggett, who committed to the Red Raiders yesterday.

Leggett stacked up two interceptions, four pass breakups, four tackles for loss, and four sacks as a freshman at Allan Hancock College. He’s a late addition, but Leggett will still be eligible for the 2017 season, he will have three more years of eligibility.

He joins a Texas Tech recruiting class that has somewhat leaned on JUCO prospects. McLane Carter, Jacob Hines, and Desmond Nisby added depth to the offense, and Jaylon Lane, Tony Jones, and familiar face Dakota Allen have added some needed strength to the defense.

Leggett is Texas Tech’s 19th commit in the 2017 class.
