Last Thursday, Texas Tech released documents to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal that were related to the Title IX hearing involving Jett Duffey, who has been suspended from Texas Tech for the past two semesters, and is expected to return to the school and football team in the fall.
According to the documents, Duffey claims that he had consensual sex with a woman in his apartment on April 16th. The woman claims that she was too intoxicated to move and did not consent.
The result of the panel found Duffey responsible for two counts of sexual misconduct in the form of non-consensual intercourse. He was suspended from Texas Tech for two semesters, and was therefore unable to participate in any football activities during the 2016 season. Duffey was expected by many to be the heir apparent to Patrick Mahomes.
