Pease was in his second season as offensive coordinator in El Paso after stops at Washington and Florida among his recent stops. Things have not been going to plan so far this season for the Miners. Through three games, UTEP is ranked 128th out of 129 FBS teams in total offense, 124th in scoring offense and 129th in both rushing offense and in first downs per game.
The Miners have rushed for just 43 yards in their last two games.
The El Paso Times has reported that sources indicate that tight ends coach Brian Natkin will be the next play caller and receivers coach Chuck Veliz will work with the quarterbacks.
Per the release, Kugler will address further staff changes on Monday at his weekly press conference. The Miners take on archrival New Mexico State on Saturday in Las Cruces.
