A Texarkana native, Parks committed to SMU over offers from Arkansas Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, Missouri State, Northeastern State and Southern Illinois.
Ranked as a three-star prospect, Parks is a relentless rusher off the edge and as a junior, such effort gave way to 66 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three sacks and three forced fumbles. He’ll now enter his senior season as an SMU commit, which gives Morris and the Mustangs 18 commitments to date and a class that currently ranks No. 57 nationally and No. 5 in the American Athletic Conference.
More notably, Parks continues the trend of SMU’s in-state success on the recruiting trail, as he’s the 17th pledge this cycle from Texas.
At 6’4.5, 231 pounds, Parks is ranked as the nation’s No. 1,571 player, No. 80 weak-side defensive end and the No. 197 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
