The SEC Media Days kicked off from Hoover, Ala. on Monday. First to take the podium was SEC commissioner Grey Sankey, who just finished his first year as the head of the conference.
During Sankey’s speech, he addressed a number of issues that were seemingly unrelated to football. One of those included the state of the country, especially in the aftermath of the Dallas police shootings, according to the Bryan-College Station Eagle.
“Peace is the greatest weapon mankind has to resolve even the most intractable difficulties. But to be an effective agent for peace, you have to seek not only the change the community and the world, but it’s more difficult to change yourself before you seek to change others. Only those who have the courage to change themselves and know, in all communities, without exception, there are good men and good women who want to serve those communities.”
