Kenny Hill had the world at his feet after a 511 yard, three touchdown record breaking performance in Texas A&M’s first game moving forward from the Johnny Football era.

Everything seemed like it was going great for Hill, he was the starting qb of a top tier college football team and suddenly was thrust into the Heisman race after starting the 2014 season red hot and putting A&M in SEC title contention.

Then suddenly things started to go wrong for him on the field and off it. Coach Kevin Sumlin suspended Hill for violating team rules and chose Kyle Allen to replace him as the team’s starting quarterback. Hill decided to transfer at the end of the season.

Fast forward two years from Hill’s A&M departure and you’ll find Kenny Hill competing for the starting quarterback position up the road from College Station, in Fort Worth for TCU.

Hill spent last season studying under one of the country’s best qb’s in Trevone Boykin, learning the offense and proving to the coaching staff he deserved the second chance he is receiving.

Coach Patterson of TCU plans to name a starting quarterback for the upcoming season about 9-10 days before the start of their games, and Kenny Hill is in the thick of it, competing with Foster Sawyer, who struggled in limited action when coming in for Boykin last year. Sawyer started the Oklahoma game and was benched after throwing 3 interceptions.

At this time the competition remains tight between Sawyer and Hill, but with Hill having the slight edge in mobility and quickness he may just end up being TCU’s main man under center come September 3rd against South Dakota.
