Maurice Smith II(University of Alabama DB) has chosen to entertain options for his senior season of college football with permission granted by University of Alabama. In accordance with NCAA bylaw 13.1.1.3, any institution can speak with Maurice Smith regarding his interest in possibly transferring and participating in Football at their institution. Maurice’s successful completion of his undergraduate studies (in 3 years) has positioned him with the option to either complete his college football career at Alabama, or exercise his graduate-transfer option to play his true Senior season at another institution.
Recently, Maurice Smith II contributed towards the success in University of Alabama’s win of this year’s National Championship. He played in all 15 games this past season and, according to Roll Tide.com played in 26 games during his first two years at the Capstone while making two starts at cornerback. He is currently ranked second on the team with seven special teams tackles, four on punt and three on kickoff coverage, and named one of the special teams players of the week by the UA coaching staff. Maurice has been known as a “utility player” while playing multiple positions in the secondary and often in the same game.
