SMU will be slightly thinner at the receiver position in 2017.
According to a report from Scout, Xavier Castille left the program at the end of spring practices and is no longer listed on the online roster.
The former Rockwall receiver played in all 12 games last year for the Mustangs, finishing with 40 receptions, 423 yards and a touchdown to go with made three starts. He was expected to take on a bigger role with a talented group of receivers that include potential first-round pick Courtland Sutton and James Proche.
SMU has not confirmed the departure of Castille from the program.
