We’re ecstatic to announce that we’re going to be headed to Longhorn Stadium to cover the Cedar Hill-Bishop Gorman game.
Cedar Hill has had some incredibly talented teams over the years. This year’s team might be the best they’ve ever had.
This game was chosen as the Game of the Week for one main reason: it’s a chance for Texas to show out against one of the best teams in the nation. Bishop Gorman comes into the game ranked #2 in the nation. The Gaels are lead by Tate Martell, the recent Texas A&M decommit who will head to Ohio State to play for Urban Meyer, and Biaggio Ali Walsh, the grandson of the late Muhammad Ali.
Bishop Gorman isn’t just a juggernaut offense, however. Their defense, especially their defensive backfield, is incredible in it’s own right. DT Haskell Garnett and DBs Bubba Bolden and Alex Perry are all in the top 10 recruits in the state of Nevada. Make no mistake: The Gaels have earned every ounce of the hype that they’re getting.
Cedar Hill hopes to defend Texan pride. The Longhorns have a ridiculous amount of seniors returning from a team that lost in the first round of the playoffs in 2015, one that could be looking to go on a revenge tour after the untimely loss.
The Longhorns have had some incredibly talented teams over the years. This year’s team might be the best they’ve ever had. It’s an embarrassment of riches for head coach Joey McGuire; the team has four juniors with multiple D-1 offers, ten seniors with multiple D-1 offers, and they return ten players from last year’s offense.
This game has all the makings of a heavyweight slugfest. Both teams are chock-full of national talent, they’ve both won multiple state titles in recent years, and they’re both nationally ranked. Every play will count in a game that could come down to the wire, and could potentially decide a national championship.
