DALLAS — Welcome to the show — and the NFL Combine — Kyle Hicks and Joseph Noteboom.
Hicks, a 2,000-yard rusher out of Arlington, and Joseph Noteboom, an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention offensive tackle from Plano, were invited to the premier NFL pre-draft event per a Friday press release by Texas Christian University.
Forty-two players have been drafted under head coach Gary Patterson with Josh Caraway and Aviante Collins the most recent players invited to the combine. TCU sent six players in 2016. That list included quarterback Trevone Boykin, receiver Josh Doctson, and defensive back Derrick Kindred.
The Horned Frogs sent five in ’15 — including running back B.J. Catalon, receiver Skye Dawson and offensive lineman Tayo Fabuluje.
Hicks and Noteboom, who will participate in the February 27 through March 5 culminating event in Indianapolis, will be two of 15 the Horned Frogs have sent to the combine.

Hicks, ran for 2,101 yards and 19 touchdowns and averaged 4.7 yards per carry mark in his career at TCU. He added 102 receptions for 930 yards and four scores. As a junior, he became the first Horned Frog since 1996 to top the team in rushing (1,042 yards) and receptions (47).
Between 2011 and 2013 Hicks gained 2,795 yards and scored seven touchdowns in two varsity seasons at Arlington Martin High School. In his final year at TCU, he was one of just four major conference running backs this season to have at least 2,000 yards rushing and 100 receptions in his career. According to NFLDrafScout.com, Hicks is the No. 42 running back out of 190 backs currently eligible to enter the draft.
Noteboom, a Plano Senior High alumnus that will play in next Saturday’s Reese’s Senior Bowl, was honorable-mention All-Big 12 this season after starting all 14 games at left tackle. Andre Morman and Braylan Cambell and the Plano offense ran for a combined 1,980 yards during Noteboom’s final season as a Wildcat.
It was more than the each of the three previous seasons.
He closed his collegiate career with 40 consecutive starts. It represented every game of his final three seasons. Per scouturf.com, Noteboom is the No. 177 athlete on its 2018 NFL Draft Big Board. He is the 12th offensive tackle expected to be drafted.
