2A Team of the Week: Granger Lions
Both Granger and Milano were looking to bounce back from losses in their District 13-2A Division II matchup this past Friday.
Making the 40-mile journey east to Milano, Granger entered the game as 10-point underdogs.
Yet, it didn’t appear that way on the field.
Senior running back DJ McClelland rushed for 100 yards and a score while quarterback Nathan Tucker added 72 yards and three touchdowns of his own on the ground.
The two were also prolific in the passing attack as Tucker threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns, while McClelland caught three of those passes for 91 yards and a score.

With McClelland and Tucker firing on all cylinders, Granger quickly jumped out to a 31-0 halftime advantage and cruised to a 45-14 victory over the Eagles.
With the win, Granger appears set to finish second in its district as long as the Lions finish their regular season with a home win against Bartlett this Friday.
And after surviving a gauntlet of a district, the Lions (7-2) will certainly be a team to keep an eye on as the playoffs roll around next week.
